Raising Funds for Premature Babies
Monday 3rd November 2008
The North Trent Neonatal Transport Team, based at the Jessop Wing in Sheffield, recently took part in an incubator push around Sheffield City Centre, in a bid to raise money for Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust.
The charity event, which took place in October, saw the procession of fundraisers leaving the Jessop Wing donned in fancy dress, with superman, a naughty nurse and a bumble bee all in attendance. The procession certainly caught the attention of passers-by, who dug deep to support the team. In total they raised a fantastic £1.077.80, which will go to benefit patients and families on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.
Transport coordinator and event organiser Caron Watts said: “The team pulled together to raise money to help benefit patients at the hospital. It was a great day and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. I would like to thank everyone who supported us, either by joining the progression as a fundraiser, or who made a donation and took time out of their day to find out a bit more about what we do. Everyone was extremely generous and we really cannot thank them enough.”
