Pain in the Arch for Charity

Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust is set to benefit from sales of a new beer, being launched this summer by Abbeydale Brewery – local brewers and owners of the Rising Sun pub in Fulwood.

 The beer, entitled “Pain in the Arch”, has been created in honour of Rising Sun regular, Roger Crookenden Johnson. Roger requested that money from the sale of the beers go to Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust, to benefit cancer patients at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, having himself been treated at the hospital for both pancreatic and throat cancer.  ... › read more

Charitable Trust supports the Games

The 31st Westfield Health British Transplant Games has been given a boost following a £25,000 grant.

Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust has chosen to support the Games, which are organised on behalf of the charity Transplant Sport UK (TSUK) to promote the benefits of organ donation.

The Games is one of the biggest annual multi-sports events in the UK and will take place at venues across Sheffield from 7th until 11th August ... › read more

Running 10k for Young People with Leukaemia

Two teachers from Clifton: A Community Arts School in Rotherham have raised an amazing £532 for the new teenage cancer unit being built as part of the redevelopment of the adult leukaemia wards at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Dan Fisher and Matt Butler took part in the Clumber Park 10k Race to raise money in memory of Neil Gardiner, who sadly lost his battle with leukaemia last November ... › read more

Dancers Raise Money for the Metabolic Bone Unit

Friday 14th December 2007

A troupe of dancers led by Michelle Farrar put on a spectacular concert at the Montgomery Theatre, Sheffield, and raised money for the Metabolic Bone Unit at the Northern General Hospital.

Money was collected in lieu of payment for programmes, and local companies also provided sponsorship.

In total almost £2,500 was raised by the event.
